FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with invention process of control over aluminium electrolyzer includes periodic treatment of crust of electrolyte, measurement of voltage and current of series, calculation of electrolyte resistance within interpole space, of its average value and concentration of alumina in electrolyte by mathematical model and change of rate of feed of alumina into electrolyzer depending on deviation of calculated value of concentration from preset one. In this case mathematical model is corrected at moments of treatment of crust of electrolyte, temperature of electrolyte is measured in intervals between treatments and mathematical model is additionally corrected by measurement results. Moment of treatment of crust is determined as excess of value of average rate of change of resistance within 3-5 min interval over value specified by technology when anode is not moved. Current of series is averaged and calculation of concentration of alumina is conducted with period of 5-10 min with allowance for average value of current of series within this time interval.
