FIELD: textile industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves compacting mineral fibers arranged on working surface 13 so as to form mineral wool web 12 and reorienting position of fibers by mechanical action, i.e., by feeding web with its wide surface for processing, which involves applying force, in particular, compaction force in direction parallel with wide surface, with sites of applying force being arranged one beside another along line extending transverse to direction of movement of mineral wool at predetermined space from and behind one another in direction of advancement of mineral wool web in longitudinal zones, which are offset from one another; hardening binder. Force application sites are elongated in direction 14 of feeding of mineral wool web 12, and application sites of longitudinal zone are arranged so as to define overlap regions 27. Method and apparatus allow increased longitudinal force sufficient for felting of mineral fibers to be provided.
EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality and wider range of products made from mineral wool.
