FIELD: regulating charge of battery recharged in portable electronic device.
SUBSTANCE: proposed voltage/current regulator has transistor connected to controller that functions to control battery charge current. Controller is capable of detecting power dissipation within regulator transistor and its excess above admissible value, if any; reducing charge current by definite value in case of excessive power dissipation; finding out if power dissipation will exceed maximum permissible value in case charge current is enhanced by mentioned value, and enhancing charge current by this value, if this is the case.
EFFECT: reduced time of charge.
