FIELD: railway transport; railway signaling and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use on track sections equipped with semi-automatic block systems. According to proposed method, number of train wheelset axles counted by corresponding counters when entering track section is compared with number of train wheelset axles when leaving the track section, and if their number coincides, track section is considered non-occupied. Train locomotive is equipped with system to exchange data with stations limiting the track section by radio. Information on number of train wheelset axles is transmitted from station to station by local radio channel through running locomotive using it as carrier of said information.
EFFECT: improved safety of traffic.
