FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway traffic control. Proposed method consists in comparison of the number of rolling stock mounted axles when rolling stock enters the span and at leaving the latter. At compliance, decision is made about cleared span while the data on the number of rolling stock mounted axles is transmitted from station to station via the system of data exchange between locomotives. In radio exchange, axle count floor equipment is brought in synchronism according to time marks of satellite navigation system. In count, floor equipment fixes and registers the time the axle passage above axle part initial and final sensors. Then ISM and GSM radio communication means are used to transmit said data and that of track transducers and coordinates of their location to locomotive onboard control device. In case the number of counted axles does not comply with that of locomotive mounted axles, floor hardware at track previous sections that outputs false occupancy to be changes to the mode of cleared track.
