FUSION REACTOR PORT-LIMITER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: port-limiters of fusion reactors.

SUBSTANCE: port-limiter has stacked vertical panels interconnected through split joint. Side walls of panels are provided with seats and projections. When panels are joined together, these seats form rectangular cavities and projections form central projection. Split joint of panels is made in the form of wedge mechanism incorporating two pairs of sections of which one pair is assembled of segments fitted onto threaded bushing and other pair is built of wedge clamps mounted on segments and joined together through springs. One wedge surface of clamp is supported by two segments and other side contacts central projection in cavity. One end of bushing in first section has left-handed thread and other end, right-handed thread.

EFFECT: provision for dispensing with welding operations liable to cause damage; enhanced precision of relative positions of panes.
