FIELD: metal working at chipping in number program control lathe.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of vibration-free cutting of part at cutting speed range exceeding that of built-up edge formation; measuring thermal emf of tool-part pair. In order to decrease preparation time period at adjusting lathe measurement of thermal emf of tool-part pair is realized at operation parameters of manufacturing process. Then relation of measured thermal emf to that of preliminary working process is determined. For further contact pairs with the same material of part and kinds of tool material, thermal emf at operation parameters of manufacturing process is measured. Correction value of thermal emf of their preliminary working is determined according to given formula. When correction value of thermal emf of preliminary working of further contact pairs exceeds absolute value of thermal emf of first contact pair at operation parameters by 0.3 mV, admissible cutting speed is determined according to given formula.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring cutting speed.
