FIELD: working materials by cutting, determination of permissible cutting speed at working in NC machine tools.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminary test passing of tool on steel blank; converting analog signal of thermal emf of each cutting edge to digital signal with use of analog-to-digital converter at frequency no less than 1 kHz; comparing values of thermal emf in digital form at extracting maximum value of thermal emf. In order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of working, before starting working thermal emf values for all cutting edges of tool are determined. Arithmetical mean value of thermal emf is calculated and according to said mean value permissible cutting speed is determined and strength of cutting edge with maximum value of thermal emf is determined. Then according to relation of predetermined strength of all cutting edges of tool to strength of cutting edge with maximum value of thermal emf deviation factor of minimum strength value from preset strength is determined. If said factor exceeds its maximum value permissible cutting speed is corrected.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of controlling state of cutting edges of tool, enhanced efficiency of working.
