FIELD: mechanical engineering; transmission of rotational and translational motion to flexible shafts.
SUBSTANCE: proposed flexible shaft has central hole with chain of links articulated together by means of connecting members. Each link formed by intersection of two mutually perpendicular cylindrical surfaces is embraced by two end forks of connecting members whose inner cylindrical surfaces have embracing arc larger than length of arc of cylindrical surfaces of link. Each link is provided with stops on three corners and detachable limiter on fourth corner; height of link and height of stops is bounded by outer cylindrical surface of shaft. Shaft may be provided with elastic flexible cylindrical member.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure of assembly.
