FIELD: testing engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes measuring acoustical emission signal at the race of the rotating bearing or on the surface of one of unmovable races of the bearing, determining peaks of maximum amplitudes of the serial and continuous acoustic emission signals, determining the duration of the peak of maximum serial and continuous signals of acoustic emission, and time interval between the peaks of maximum continuous signal during at least one revolution of the bearing, and calculating the sizes of the defect along the race groove from a given formula.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of diagnostics.
