FIELD: investigation of materials with variable optical density by means of optic-electronic devices, namely development of methods for determining visual attenuation factors of protection materials of systems for individual eye protection against high-intensity thermal injury caused by light irradiation of explosion, radiant flux of fire flame and so on.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of performing by means of video camera having set of neutral light filters video registration of light impulse of optical irradiation source non - attenuated by protection material and also of light impulse of optical irradiation passed through such material; converting video signal to digital one; calculating brightness values of video images and translating them to power values by means of calibration curves received for neutral light filters.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of evaluation of visual attenuation factor.
