FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for analysis of brightness characteristics of paints, coatings, means of optical concealment in visible and infrared bands of optical spectrum for the purpose of assessment of signature of object against background. Determination of brightness levels of targets and backgrounds is performed by means of signal attenuation at input of photodetector to threshold level of photodetector sensitivity using attenuator filters and visual recording of this level achievement by monitor display of measuring device by means of comparison of fields of brightness of targets, backgrounds and reference reflectors. Device for measurements includes reference reflector consisting of two parts, one of which is painted white and the second one - black, set of attenuator filters, turning stand with filters pack and photoelectric recorder with monitor display installed on it.

EFFECT: invention ensures possibility of measurement in wide-band range without necessity of construction of analytical curves.
