FIELD: laser engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed distributed feedback solid-state dye laser incorporates amplifying medium which is, essentially, in solid state and includes fluorescent dye dope flat in its part designed to receive light from pumping device, its periodic structure varying in direction normal to mentioned flat part. Laser has locating means designed for locating and orienting amplifying medium with respect to pumping device. Amplifying medium is radiating in direction normal to mentioned flat part. Periodic structure may have plurality of stepwise disposed layers possessing optical properties periodically varying with respect to each other. Structure incorporates cholesteric liquid crystal layers. Laser may have backing in the form of tape, disk, or card.
EFFECT: facilitated handling, enhanced safety in use, reduced impact of environment, eliminated possibility of laser dye photo degradation.
