SUBSTANCE: method involves periodically controlling temperature of winter cluster and beyond hive, bee families being in their summer places at the initial wintering period; before setting hives in winter hives, weighing bee families without hives for increasing information content of control; removing bees into hives and providing controlling of all bee families under test by periodically measuring outer temperature and temperatures inside bee cluster of each bee family; establishing correlation dependence between outer and inner temperatures for each family and determining coefficients of regression equations; setting number of bees in bee families out of control on the basis of correlation coefficients and regression coefficients by comparing said coefficients with control values.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing reliable number of bee in hives.
