METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ULTRASONIC LIPOSUCTION PROCESS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2240073 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves continuously measuring ultrasonic surgical instrument radiating surface oscillation amplitude in process of liposuction being carried out. Electric current amplitude magnitude and proper resonance frequency of ultrasonic oscillation system with the surgical instrument. The Electric current amplitudes are compared to current amplitude produced by means of control unit. Electric voltage and frequency applied to oscillatory system transducer are adjusted. The working end radiating surface oscillation amplitude of ultrasonic surgical instrument is measured by processing electric current amplitude magnitude data taken as difference the current flowing through oscillatory system transducer and reactive capacitance component of the current. The measured oscillation amplitude is compared to reference oscillation amplitude from preliminarily calibrated surgical instruments in the ultrasonic master oscillator control unit memory. Their inequality being the result, electric voltage amplitude is changed to reduce oscillation amplitude difference to zero value. Change in phase between current being difference of current flowing through oscillatory system transducer and one flowing through the reactive capacitance component of the current and electric voltage applied to oscillatory system transducer is interpreted in terms of proper resonance frequency of the oscillatory system. Their phase inequality being the case, electric voltage amplitude is varied on ultrasonic master oscillator to reduce electric voltage signal phase difference on the master oscillator and oscillatory system transducer to set it to zero.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of ultrasonic action; high quality and performance of the operation; avoided patient burns.
