FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: using for measuring the resonant frequency of an instrument driven by ultrasonic oscillation during machining of the workpiece. Following steps are carried out: radiation of the working signal with a working frequency generator in the tool holder with a tool for forming an ultrasonic oscillation tool; after the beginning of machining the workpiece, the radiation of the test signal with a test frequency varying relative to the operating frequency and lower power than the power of the working signal, by the generator into the tool holder; forming a sensor signal from the ultrasonic oscillation of the instrument by means of a sensor device placed in the instrument holder; reading the sensory signal through a reader; decomposition of the sensory signal into a frequency spectrum with a fundamental frequency and a side frequency through an analyzing device; determine the fundamental frequency of the operating frequency, and the secondary frequency of the resonant frequency.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of reliable measurement of the resonant frequency of the tool, driven in the ultrasonic oscillation during machining of the workpiece.
