FIELD: manufacture of road building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thin protective wear layers of pavements made from cold cast emulsion-mineral mixture using, as binding substance, slow-destruction cationic bitumen emulsion. Invention aims at manufacturing coating in the form of thin protective wear layer with elevated wear resistance, frost resistance, and elastic and plastic properties due to sharp destruction of emulsion in the mixture within controlled period of time, and also with improved adhesive properties, elongation and elasticity of residual binding substance isolated from emulsion. Slow-destruction cationic bitumen emulsion containing, wt %: bitumen 60-62, amine-type cationic emulsifier (mixture of polyamine and amido-polyamine with alkalinity 4.3-4.65 measured with HCl) 0.8-1.1, polymer additive (latex, in particular cationic dispersion based on butadiene/styrene copolymer with 64% solids) 2-6, adhesive additive (hydrocarbon triamine with alkalinity 3.0-3.7 measured with HCl) 0.02-0.05, aqueous hydrochloric acid 0.4-0.8, and water (in balancing amount), further contains kerosene 1-3. Emulsion-mineral mixture comprises, wt parts: a mineral material 100, above-defined bitumen emulsion 12-16, water 9-14, and additionally cement 0.1-3, and ammonium sulfate 0.1-2.
EFFECT: improved wear resistance and other performance characteristics.
