FIELD: rolled stock production, namely equipment of continuous wide strip hot rolling mills.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cooling strip at transporting it in exit roller table after rolling; before coiling subjecting leading and back ends of strip to straightening along length values equal to distances between last stand of finish stand group and first coiler for hot rolling. Apparatus for treating thin strip before coiling in continuous wide strip hot rolling mill includes last stand of finish stand group of rolling mill, exit roller table, first coiler for hot rolling having feeding and shaping rollers. Multi-roller straightening machine is arranged in front of first feeding rollers of coiler. Said machine has swing upper lid and straightening rollers mounted in housing and in lid by means of bearing assemblies. Bearing assemblies and straightening rollers are hollow ones, and they nay be cooled with water. At inlet side of upper lid guiding roller is arranged; diameter of guiding roller exceeds diameter of straightening rollers at least by 2 times.

EFFECT: less loss of yield, possibility for restoring planeness, geometry and dimensions of cross section of leading and rear ends of thin strips.
