FIELD: processes and equipment for producing finely divided powder of titanium.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of hydrogenating initial titanium, disintegrating hydride, vacuum thermal dehydrogenation for further breaking of formed cake. According to invention hydrogenation is performed until achieving hydrogen content 340 - 370 cm3 for 1 g of titanium. Dehydrogenation is performed by two stages with intermediate disintegration of formed cake in order to achieve residual content of hydrogen in hydride at first stage 150 - 260 cm3 for 1 g of titanium and at second stage no more than 4 cm3 for 1 g of titanium. Such method provides production of finely divided powder with particle size less than 0.04 mm and mass quota of hydrogen 0.036%, yield of ready product no less than 90% of mass of initial titanium.
EFFECT: lowered degree of fire and explosion hazard of dehydrogenation procedure.
