FIELD: rare metal technology.
SUBSTANCE: hydrochloric acid solution containing 1.5-2.0 mole/L HCl, plutonium and neptunium in presence of reducing agent is passed through phytosorbent (Titosorb-728) to bind neptunium(IV) while plutonium(III) remains in sorbate in concentration 2.10-3%. Column is then washed to desorb neptunium. Advantage of the method consists in that separation is performed in a single sorption cycle without preliminary reduction and stabilization of plutonium and neptunium in required valent forms.
EFFECT: simplified technology, increased separation efficiency, and reduced separation time.
