FIELD: mechanical engineering; turbines.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use in bearings of turbine shaftlines. Proposed supporting thrust bearing has thrust blocks arranged at one side of shell support surface, shell being mated through spherical, surface with bearing race. Shell is provided with radial projection. Thrust blocks are installed at both sides of ring projection. Working surfaces of thrust blocks are pointed to opposite sides from projection. Diameter of support surface of shell exceeds root diameter of blocks. Such design of bearing provides increase in diameter of support surface without increasing outer (peripheral diameter of blocks and precludes getting of waste oil from support surface to working surfaces of blocks. To control position of shell relative to race, ring groove is made in supporting thrust bearing on thrust part of spherical surface of two halves of shell. Channel in race to feed high pressure oil communicates with said ring groove. Sealing ring is installed between thrust blocks and support surface to monitor self-contained operation of support and thrust parts of bearing. Said sealing ring is installed in oil drain chamber from support surface of shell and thrust blocks nearest to surface. Two rows of holes to drain oil are made in shell at different sides of sealing ring. Two longitudinal keys locking shell relative to race are installed on end faces of upper race.

EFFECT: increased load-carrying capacity and improved reliability of supporting thrust bearing as compared with known ones.
