FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power machine building, particularly, to design of support thrust bearings of steam turbines. Support thrust bearing contains a spherical insert consisting of upper half (1) and lower half (2) with support surface, and a cartridge with spherical internal boring installed between halves (1, 2), support blocks (6) fixed on locating rings (7), annular cavity (9) made in the insert, upper (11) and lower (12) mounting cushions installed in cartridge halves (1, 2), respectively, vertical channel (15) made in upper halves (4) of insert and cartridge and upper mounting pad (11) and connected to annular cavity, metering washer (16) installed in vertical channel (15) between upper mounting pad (11) and upper half (4) of cartridge. In lower halves (2) of insert and cartridge and in one of lower mounting pads (12) there is through channel (19) at angle of 20–25° to insert horizontal slot (20). In through channel (19) over entire thickness of lower half (2) of insert there is insert (21) with at least one hole (22) made along longitudinal axis (23) of insert (21) and with at least, one through hole (24) made at angle of 55–120° to longitudinal axis (23) of insert (21) and communicating with annular cavity (6), wherein hole (22) and through hole (24) do not intersect. In through channel (19) between lower mounting pad (12) and lower half (5) of cartridge metering washer (25) is installed.

EFFECT: higher reliability of turbine unit support thrust bearing, reduced losses of turbine unit power for friction and, consequently, increased efficiency of turbine unit as a whole.
