FIELD: fish industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves using preservative solution, such as aqueous solution of sodium chloride and saccharose; adding cryogenic preservatives, such as ethylene glycol and methanol; freezing mixture of sperm and preservative solution in three stages; using preservative solution components in the following ratio, wt%: sodium chloride 0.2-0.5; saccharose 0.05-0.15; ethylene glycol 18-20; methanol 24-25; distilled water the balance; freezing sperm to temperature of from 50C to -150C at freezing rate of 1-20C/min, to temperature of from -150C to -700C at freezing rate of 15-200C/min, with following immerging of sperm into liquid nitrogen.
EFFECT: increased retention of impregnation capacity of sperm upon cryogenic preservation owing to introducing into preservative solution of more effective cryogenic preservatives and increased freezing efficiency owing to simplified and convenient process for preparing of preservative solution.
