FIELD: fish industry.
SUBSTANCE: the invention relates to artificial reproduction of sturgeon. The protective medium for cryopreservation of sturgeon sperm is composed of sucrose, potassium chloride, methanol, glycerin, lecithin and distilled water in the following ratio of components, wt.%: 0.05 of sucrose, 0.15 of potassium chloride, 6–12 of methanol, 0.05–5 of glycerol, 1.0 of soy lecithin, the rest is distilled water.
EFFECT: proposed protective medium for cryopreservation of sturgeon sperm ensures the safety and activity of diluted sperm and increases the lifespan of defrosted cells.
