FIELD: machine engineering, possibly finishing at simultaneous surface hardening of steel and cast iron articles.

SUBSTANCE: tool includes housing in the form of sleeve that supports discs, movable and fixed flanges for fixing discs on sleeve. Said discs and flanges are inclined by acute angle relative to plane normal to tool rotation axis. One disc serves for hardening, it has smooth peripheral working surface made of material with low heat conductivity factor. All other discs have in periphery openings for fastening U-shaped bundles of wire pile and they are shifted one relative to other. Wire pile bundles of one disc are arranged between bundles of other disc. Spacing between axes of openings of two adjacent discs arranged along length of sleeve is equal to distance half between axes of pair of openings of disc.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of working by means of tool, improved quality of hardened layer of increased thickness.
