FIELD: manufacturing processes in machine engineering, namely apparatuses for mechanical working of large plane by needle milling cutter at strengthening by surface plastic deforming.
SUBSTANCE: tool includes body, needle milling cutter of wire pile and strengthening part. Needle milling cutter is arranged in central portion of tool and it has working end surface in the form of cone. Strengthening part is arranged in periphery of tool and it has working end surface in the form of deforming spring coiled to ring and having elliptical turns. On end of tool body individual radial grooves are formed where turns of spring are arranged. Needle milling cutter is mounted with possibility of axial motion for adjusting its extension. Turns of deforming spring are forced to end of body by means of clamping cleat with use of screws. Tool is made according to condition providing contact of cone generatrix of needle milling cutter with worked surface of blank at mounting tool by inclination angle relative to line normal to worked surface of blank in direction of its lengthwise feed.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, simplified design of tool, lowered cost price for making it, reduced labor consumption.
