FIELD: pyrometallurgy, in particular production of niobium.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes: forming of liquid-phase reaction zone in furnace, providing of ore-smelting condition, feeding to reaction zone of batch containing of niobium oxide and iron oxide; and carbon-based reducing agent; reducing fusion of batch; and removing of obtained product from reaction zone. Reaction zone or furnace is formed based on melt of calcium fluoride; smelting is carried out at 1500-17000C; recrement from cladding of aluminum electrolytic cells is used as reducing agent. Method is useful for producing of Ferro niobium.
EFFECT: niobium producing in form of niobium-iron-based alloy directly from concentrate at relatively low temperature and high yield.
