FIELD: metallurgy, in particular thermochemical treatment.
SUBSTANCE: clamed method for carbonitriding of articles includes heating at 600-7000C during 2-6 h of mixture, containing (weight %): charcoal 30-35; granulated coal 20-25; carbamide 2-8; sodium carbonate 1.8-4.9; alkali metal halide 0.2-0.5; and balance: saw dust. In one embodiment of invention carbonitriding is carried out in mixture containing sodium chloride or sodium iodide as alkali metal halide, and granulated sulfonated coal is used as granulated coal. In carbonitriding process rate of heating and cooling is the same that one of furnace. Method is useful for carbonitriding of piston pair details of tractor and automotive engines.
EFFECT: method affording the ability to form on articles diffused wear-resistant layer with low friction coefficient.
