FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, chemical-thermal processing of carbon steel and articles made from carbon steel in mechanical engineering, automobile and tractor building.
SUBSTANCE: method involves heating for diffusion saturation in mixture of nitrogen-containing and carbon-containing components by placing parts to be treated in small containers positioned in large container. Small containers are filled with mixture of nitrogen-containing and carbon-containing components, said mixture being saturating newly-prepared mixture based on charcoal and carbamide with additives of sodium-containing activators. Nitrogen-containing activators are used at the rate of 6-10 g/cm2 of area of part to be processed. Method further involves placing small containers with their covers directed down into large container and filling with waste charcoal mixture. In particular embodiments of invention, small container comprises mixture of charcoal and carbamide. Sodium-containing activator additives are 10-15% of trilone and carbamide used in an amount exceeding that of trilone by two times. Method further involves providing nicotyration by feeding large container into furnace at temperature of 950-9800C and holding at nicotyrating temperature for 1 hour; switching off furnace; cooling container together with furnace; after completing of cooling procedure, withdrawing charge at temperature of 50-800C.
EFFECT: improved quality of deposited coating by increased wear-resistance, micro strength, corrosion resistance and crack resistance, and wider range of usage in different branches of industry.
