FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: parts are placed into a container and filled with a powder mixture made of the following components: activated charcoal, carbamide and versene. The powder mixture is used, in which the specified components are contained at the ratio of 1:1:1. Prior to placement into the container with the powder mixture, the parts are coated with a winding from a polyvinyl chloride adhesive tape, on the sticky part of which the powder mixture is previously applied. After filling of parts with the powder mixture in the container it is transferred to a vacuum retort with residual pressure of 50-80 Pa, previously heated to the temperature of 980-1000°C and maintained for 4-6 hours at the carbonitriding temperature of 960-980°C. Then tempering is carried out in oil from the carbonitriding temperature, after tempering parts are cooled in the container on air, then tempering is done on air at 250-320°C for 2-3 hours.
EFFECT: improved main operational properties of carbonitrided parts from high-chromium steels, namely, hardness and wear resistance increase.
