FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: according to first design version, in lower part of cylinder provided with upper and exhaust ports, lower exhaust ports are made over piston when it is in bottom dead center which are overlapped by piston at its movement from bottom to top dead centers. According to second design version , in lower part of cylinder provided with force-action exhaust and intake valves, lower intake ports are made to which air is delivered by supercharger and which are overlapped by piston moving from bottom dead center to top dead center, and self-acting valve is installed in line delivered air before lower intake ports. According to third design version, engine contains intake and exhaust ports located over piston in its bottom dead center position. Intake ports with self-acting valve are closed by piston moving to top dead center after closing of exhaust ports, and air to intake ports is delivered by supercharger. According to fourth design version, engine contains intake and exhaust ports with electromagnetic valves. Valve operation control program provides operation of engine at two stroke or four-stroke cycle. According to fifth version, engine contains two adjacent double-acting cylinders. Cylinder spaces are combined, and exhaust ports in one space and intake ports in other space are connected with supercharger. According to sixth design version, engine contains double-acting cylinder and two adjacent double-acting cylinders, pistons of which move in opposite directions, and working spaces are united. Engine of seventh design version contains two or more cylinders. Working spaces have similar phases, are connected to each other to form groups. One space in each group is provided with bypass and under exhaust valves which remain open when piston moves to top dead center, and bypass valves connect said space, after closing of upper exhaust valves, with other working spaces of said group when piston of said group is near top dead center. Engine of eight design version contains working and compression cylinders. Working cylinder is provided with exhaust valves in its upper part which remain open when piston of working cylinder moves to top dead center, and compression cylinder is starting one, from which gas is passed into working cylinder.

EFFECT: increased power output and economy.
