FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed piston compressor is furnished with charger to build gauge pressure. Gas from charger is delivered to cylinder intake valves and to additional lower intake ports. The latter are made in lower part of cylinder over piston in bottom dead center. Charger is furnished with device to change its capacity. Intake and exhaust valves are self-acting ones or can be provided with forced drive. Spool valves are used as intake and exhaust valves with forced drive.
EFFECT: increased capacity of compressor.
