FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed inventions relates to several design versions of internal combustion engine: operating cylinder piston is provided with deflector in form of ring groove limited in length by arc of circumference located in upper cylindrical part of piston, and outer cylindrical edge of upper side wall of groove forms diffuser for directing gas flow along cylindrical generatrix of cylinder wall; pistons of twin operating cylinder are installed in double acting cylinders and are provided with rods for coupling with cranks spaced relative to each other in crankshaft angle and providing movement of pistons in one or opposite directions and for operation at starting, operating cylinder is connected with pump cylinder by bypass channel. For operation of engine under normal conditions pump cylinder turns into operating cylinder after starting; engine is made multirow (double-row) with cylinders installed one over the other, with separating partition placed in between. Pistons of cylinders of preceding row are connected with pistons of cylinders of following row by means of rods, and twin operating cylinder is used with two pistons and common combustion chamber through which two operating spaces of cylinder are placed in communication, these spaces being arranged at one or both sides of partition; engine has only operating cylinders to intake ports of which two blowers are connected in parallel to each other. One of blowers is starting one, furnished with self-contained drive, and the other is main one powered by energy generated by engine after is its starting.
