FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for internal combustion engine wit having several cylinders, each provided with ignition coil for generating igniting spark in corresponding spark plug. Basing on signals from speed transmitter and phase sensor, cylinder is determined in which piston is in top dead center and cylinder in which piston is at expansion stroke. Said transmitter and second are connected with knocking control device which supplies knocking control signal of each cylinder separately to ignition control unit. Provision is made for activation of double ignition with igniting spark created in each cylinder each time when its piston reaches top dead center. According to invention, if phase sensor fails and if double ignition is not activated, knocking control device provides separate knocking control in each cylinder under normal conditions. If double ignition is activated at failure of phase sensor, knocking control is provided owing to emergency control with preventive change of ignition moment for all cylinders to delayed ignition or knocking control basing on common threshold knocking value for all cylinders is effected.
EFFECT: provision of complete combustion of working mixture in internal combustion engine and high degree of reliability of knocking control.
