FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: method of operation of a piston engine is to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber (28). The detonation ignition chamber (22) is separated from the cavity of the working chamber (28) with a lean air-fuel mixture of gasoline grades from A66 to A95 when the pressure reaches 1.2 to 1.5 MPa. The first detonation combustion is carried out in the combustion chamber (28) forcibly by a valve - spark plug (16), with the ignition system (18) advancing the angle until the piston (4) reaches top dead center (TDC) and pressure from 2.0 to 2.5 MPa. The second detonation combustion is carried out in the detonation ignition chamber (22) up to 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation after TDC when hot gases enter from the working combustion chamber (28). A piston engine implementing the method is disclosed.
EFFECT: increase of the engine power.
