FIELD: measuring engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises setting tree testing units (5,6,7) above the conveyer. Unit (5) has two cameras (8,9) whose optical axes intersect in food products at an angle of 90-130o. Two other units comprise cameras (12,14) which are arranged vertically above the conveyer. The products are set in rotation when they are transported through testing units (5-7). In so doing, cameras (8,9,12,14) photograph to obtain several images of additional front surfaces of products. The theoretical diameter of the product is compared with the mean diameter obtained from the photographs.
EFFECT: simplified operation.
