FIELD: inspection of glass containers.
SUBSTANCE: device for detecting chipping in necks of semitransparent glass containers has first optical unit where first light radiation source 34 directs light energy to neck of container during rotation of the container. First light-sensitive detector 36 receives parts of first portion of light energy reflected from horizontal chipping. Device also has second and third optical units which have in turn second and third light radiation sources 40 and 44 and second and third detectors 42 and 46 relating to sources intended for directing light energy onto neck of container and for receiving energy reflected from vertical chipping in container's neck. Each optical unit has corresponding mounting plate. Due to the plate the optical units are mounted in inspection position with first light radiation source and detector which are both installed at vertical plane, and second and third light radiation sources and detectors mounted at opposite sides of vertical plane in mirror reflection to each other. Mounting plates have blocking pins and slots for simultaneous adjusting of all optical units applicable for different diameters of necks of containers.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of inspection.
