FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device for fixing the vertebral column has body and supporting members provided with dowels. The device body is cylindrical tube. The cylindrical supporting members are longitudinally movable in the device body along guiding members in restricted intervals. Two pairs of through slots arranged diametrically opposite to each other are available for mounting the guides rigidly connected to the supporting members. Each supporting member has base provided with dowels on the external side and with cylindrical recesses, having spiral compression springs on the internal side mounted therein. The device for setting the vertebral column fixation device supports articulated branches and mechanism for moving them. The mechanism is designed as threaded rod pivotally attached to one of the branches. The rod passes through an opening in the other branch and has a wing nut. The branches are connected to each other with inoperative ends, their working ends being two-toothed forks manufactured as half-rings arranged with their planes in perpendicular to the branch movement plane. Internal radius of the half-rings is greater than that of the device for fixing the vertebral column to an extent enough for the latter to be arrangeable in the forks. Slits are produced in end portions of the half-rings to meet each other for receiving the vertebral column fixation device guides.
EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications; accelerated treatment course.
