GRINDING MACHINE TOOL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: abrasive working processes and equipment, possibly grinding non-wholly cylindrical surfaces of articles such as shoes of braking blocks of railway moving stock.

SUBSTANCE: machine tool includes grinding head mounted on two double-arm levers rigidly joined through parallel cross pieces and mounted with possibility of rocking on guiding cross piece. Screw mechanism is used for adjusting levers according to fixed predetermined radius of working article; said mechanism is in the form of two bolts mutually joined by means of adjustment coupling. Head of one bolt is joined with cross piece of at side of grinding head; head of other bolt is joined with adjustment coupling. Locking nut is screwed onto thread of second bolt. Return spring loaded bushing is arranged on said nut. Adjustment coupling provides possibility for smoothly tuning grinding head according to predetermined radius. When operator releases handle, return spring moves grinding head to position where it has no contact with ground surface.

EFFECT: improved design of grinding head, enlarged using range of machine tool.
