FIELD: metal working, possibly working of low-rigidity elongated parts in universal machine tools.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized at using cutting zone for exciting oscillation of part blank with use of elastic member. Method provides improved stability of part geometry along its length due to controlling frequency, shape and amplitude of oscillations. Method comprises steps of exciting in elastic member lengthwise-torsion oscillations with possibility of changing their shape due to regulating rigidity of elastic member and controlling cutting mode at using data of diagnostics; working on different portions of amplitude-frequency characteristic of non-linear system "blank-elastic member"; realizing rough working in before-resonance branch and finish working in after-resonance branch of amplitude-frequency characteristic; setting working zone in said characteristic while taking into account change of frequency zone of working.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of working.
