FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming semilunar grafts from superficial sclera portions on both sides with partial attachment place near limb being retained. The grafts are equal in size to a half of sclera. After having removed the cornea, eyeball contents and posterior part of sclera with apart of optic nerve, the remaining cavity is filled with retrobulbar cellular tissue and Tennon's capsule posterior part fragments with retained feeding blood vessels. Stump is formed by arranging the semilunar grafts around their partial attachment place near the limb as two cusps. The cusps are sutured to each other. Dense crushed allocartilage suspension is introduced into the scleral cavity through gap between suture stitches to fill the cavity completely.
EFFECT: reduced risk of postoperative complications.
