FIELD: metallurgy, in particular manufacturing of iron ore agglomerate for blast-furnace reduction.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes charging batch layer, containing iron ore material, flux, additive, recycled material and solid fuel, onto sintering machine; firing; sintering; cooling, and mechanical cake treatment. Iron oxide (FeO) content in finished agglomerate is controlled and regulated according to layer height and batch basic capacity. Rational FeO content (FeOA) is defined as FeOA = FeOB + K3(FeOBI + FeOBF), wherein FeOB = K1 - K2.B.Hn; K1, K2,K2, and n - empirically determined coefficients, B - batch basic capacity, CaO/SiO2; H - batch layer height on sintering machine, mm; FeOBI and FeOBF - mass FeO content in batch before and after alteration of FeO content in agglomerate. When magnetite concentrates are sintered K1 = 20.0-22.0; K2 = 0.25-0.30; K3 =0.2-0.7; n = 0.5-0.8.
EFFECT: decreased solid fuel consumption, increased sintering machine capability, agglomerate with improved strength and reducibility.
