FIELD: electrochemistry, namely processes for providing dense structures of solid ion conductors characterized by fluorine ion conductivity, possibly manufacture of chemical electric current sources, sensors, ion selective electrodes, electronic components.
SUBSTANCE: method for making polycrystalline structure of ion conductor on base of rare earth metal trifluoride comprises steps of pressing initial powder and further processing prepared blank by means of shock wave with amplitude 5 - 60 GPa.
EFFECT: enhanced strength, improved purity of ready product (up to purity degree of initial matters), high level of ion conductivity.
