FIELD: environment control; location and gathering petroleum product, mainly in rivers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed harbor boom has sections interconnected by means of articulation members and cable; they are connected with end sections. Sections are made from worn tires of similar diameter which are placed by their sides towards each other and are fastened by means of tightening members. Articulation members are placed on blanks fitted at ends of sections and provided with seals. Cavities of lower parts of tires are filled with ballast elements and remaining cavity is filled with foamed polymer material. Flexible couplings may be made in form of synthetic cables. Joint areas of tires may be coated with layer of adhesive. Foamed polyurethane may be used as foamed polymer material.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability; utilization of worn articles.
