METHOD OF PROTECTION OF GAS-TO-WATER HEAT EXCHANGER AGAINST LOW-TEMPERATURE CORROSION ON GAS SIDE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: heat exchange apparatus; hot-water boilers; hot-water waste-heat boilers; condensate gas heaters for heating-system water and make-up water of waste-heat boilers mounted after gas turbines and diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: heat exchange surface of heat exchanger is divided into two sections; surface of each subsequent section exceeds surface of previous section by no less than 20%; part of cold water and part of water heated in heat exchanger is fed to inlet of first section; water heated in previous section and part of cold water is fed to inlet of each subsequent section; flow rate of cold water to first section is regulated at constant flow rate of heated water; water temperature at inlet of each subsequent section is maintained automatically by means of throttling unit mounted at cold water inlet; water temperature at heat exchanger outlet is regulated by mixing part of cold water with water heated in heat exchanger and by change of flow rate of cold water fed to first section.

EFFECT: enhanced economical efficiency due to reduced consumption of recirculating water; extended range of loads of heat exchanger.
