Abstract RU 2248537 C1

FIELD: measuring temperature in cutting zone for superhard tools.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes mounting artificial thermocouple in tool body and oscillographing its output voltage. In the course of wear of cutting tool, distance between point of passing of thermal electrodes into junction and working surface of crystal and temperature corresponding to this distance are periodically measured. Then, experimental results are approximated by function which is extrapolated to cutting zone. Proposed method makes it possible to determine contact temperature and nature of its distribution in cutting tools used for materials possessing low electric conductivity and crystals of superhard dielectric materials.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
