FIELD: laser technique, optoelectronics, possibly measuring devices in physics, laser location systems, laser spatial communication systems for high-accuracy effective measurement of characteristics of laser medium.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of creating disturbance action in excited laser medium; generating first and second optical testing signals transmitted through laser medium at presence and absence of disturbance in it; measuring intensity fluctuation values of first and second optical testing signals after their passing through laser medium in order to determine characteristics of laser medium. Apparatus for performing the method provides technical result that is confirmed experimentally at testing apparatus.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determining characteristics of laser medium, improved response of measurements.
