METHOD OF FUSION DEPTH CONTROL AT LASER WELDING OF PRECISION ARTICLES AND SAMPLE FOR PERFORMING THE METHOD Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: laser working, possibly manufacture of precision articles at making air crafts and automobiles.

SUBSTANCE: simulating sample has stepped crown profile of lower restricting surface at side of root portion of welded seam. Profile has at least three flat portions parallel to front restricting surface. Height of each portion dn measured along normal line connecting both restricting surfaces is set in such a way that for first portion relation d1 = 0.8h is satisfied; for second portion relation d2 = h is satisfied and for third portion d3 = 1.2 h, where h - designed fusion depth for predetermined welding mode. Welding seam is continuous one and it is welded at fixed power parameters of thermal cycle for all portions of profile. According to predetermined order image of root trace is formed as "track" of mutually touching and partially overlapping concentric circles of cast zone and mutually overlapping thermal-influence zones in first portion; as "track" of separate mutually touching concentric circles of cast zone and partially overlapping thermal-influence zones in second portion; as separate partially touching traces of zones of thermal influence in third portion. Fusion depth is evaluated visually according to character of changing trace image of root part of welded seam in lower restricting surface with stepped profile.

EFFECT: effective monitoring of fusion depth, quality control of welded joint at laser welding on base of appearance of image of root part of welded seam trace.
