FIELD: sealing technology; manufacture of end seals; sealing revolving shafts of machines and mechanisms.
SUBSTANCE: manufacture of friction ring for end seal consisting of metal holder and friction ring includes heating the holder, applying the elastic material to friction ring, for example fluoroplastic tape over external cylindrical surface of ring and pressing the ring in holder; fluoroplastic tape is applied to friction ring in one layer at overlap not exceeding 5% of length of ring circle. Tape is tightened and is pressed to external cylindrical surface of ring; it is secured due to pinning on projections on external surface of ring.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and tightness of connection of friction ring with holder.
