FIELD: shutting-off flow passage of vertical hydraulic turbine.
SUBSTANCE: proposed drive includes drive unit, kinematic linkage between this unit and working member of seal, unit combining linkage and supporting articulations. Working member of seal may move along immovable cylindrical surface of hydraulic turbine. Linkage is flexible and direction is set along axis of drive unit by at least one supporting articulation. Drive unit is located at distance from main equipment of hydraulic turbine for ease in servicing and working member of seal is connected with drive unit through tackle block. Construction of drive simplifies construction of seal retaining axisymmetry of flow and protecting the hydraulic unit against acceleration.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability.
